Custom star map Canada
A Canadian shop, for the sky over here
dostad is a small Canadian star-map studio. You enter a date, a time and a place, and we compute the real night sky for that moment — the actual stars and planets, from NASA JPL ephemeris data — then draw it at print resolution. The sky over Regina, St. John's or Trois-Rivières is rendered with the local time zone applied automatically, so the map matches the moment as it was experienced there.
Buying from a Canadian shop is a small, practical difference. Prices are shown in Canadian dollars for Canadian visitors, the maps are generated in Canada, and framed prints ship within Canada and the US — no surprise conversion, no cross-border paperwork to think about.
What you can make
Any moment works: the night a couple met, a wedding date, the minute a baby arrived, a first night in a new home, a graduation, or a date that remembers someone. Pick the occasion you have in mind and start there:
Dates from 1900 to 2100 are supported, anywhere on Earth. Search a city, a landmark or a street address; the local time zone is applied for you.
Preview free, then choose a format
The preview is free and needs no account — it is watermarked, and the file you buy isn't. Two ways to take it:
- Digital download — $2 USD. A high-resolution PNG (up to 4096 px) plus a scalable SVG, delivered instantly. Available anywhere in the world, with no shipping involved. - Framed print — $100 USD. 16 × 20 in (40.6 × 50.8 cm), printed at 300 dpi on matte art stock, framed and ready to hang. Made to order and shipped within Canada and the US; it includes the digital files.
Why the map is trustworthy
A star map is only a keepsake if it's true. Positions come from NASA JPL ephemeris data for your exact date, time and coordinates, and we verify them against documented astronomical events. Our reference test reproduces the Great Conjunction of 21 December 2020 — Jupiter and Saturn 6.1 arcminutes apart, their closest approach since 1623.
Every map is made to order and personalised, so all sales are final — please check your date, time and place before you pay. If we got it wrong, we'll fix it or refund you in full. See the refund policy.
